Linux Basic Commands


INTRO:-
The  nano editor is designed to follow the funtions and ease-of-use of the UW pico text editor.

Useful Commands For Ubuntu Linux
➮ls 
   ➤show the files in your current directory.
➮pwd
   ➤show the pathway off your directory.
➮cd
   ➤change directory.
➮mkdir file name
   ➤create a directory.
rmdir file name
   ➤delete directory.
➮cd(space)..
   ➤go back from a directory.
➮tree
   ➤show the stucture of files in a directory.
➮man "command
   ➤show the uses of the command
➮sudo
   ➤executing commands with administrative privileges.
➮who
   ➤display login name.
➮date
   ➤display date and time. 
➮mv file.txt name file1.txt
   ➤rename the file.
➮echo hello >> file.txt
   ➤to create a text in the text file .
➮cat filename
   ➤view the content.
➮df
   ➤shows disk space details.
➮free
   ➤shows free space details.
➮shutdown
   ➤shutdown the computer.
➮exit
  ➤ close the terminal.
➮history
   ➤history of typed commands.
➮adduser newuser1
   ➤create a new user.
➮passswd
   ➤to change the password of the computer.
